WHAT IS...RUTILATED QUARTZ?
Quartz with whisper thin hairlike inclusions of rutile (another mineral) is called rutiliated quartz. Rutile can be yellow, gold, and various shades of red through black. When the inclusions are red they are frequently from iron in the form of hematite.
